Ongoing operations

Oak Park Community Garden is operated by its individual members. Each member gardener is required to maintain his/her own plot. In addition they assist in the maintenance and operation of the garden (2 hours per parcel per month are required). The members:


  • Establish plot sizes and layout
  • Plan and install an irrigation system
  • Establish rules
  • Provide for resolving conflict
  • Develop a budget
  • Accept and review garden applications
  • Collect dues
  • Provide for paying bills
  • Secure appropriate insurance
  • Elect officers to administer the operation of the garden

Meeting schedule

January, March, April, May, June, July, September, and October on the third Thursday of the month.

Time: 7:00 P.M.

Location: The Nature Room at Oak Park Community Center
